Reviews
For all people with problems Frothing wand Due to the size of you might want to try increasing the height of the machine. I have a book wrapped in aluminum foil and set my coffee machine in the book. It really helps!
I bought this machine 4 months ago, and I love it! C 'is my first espresso machine, I ' d never made espresso before. However, after reading the machine 's instructions and a few posts on this site, I was quickly wonderful cappuccinos and Lattes. And it tastes just as good as what you get at Starbucks! This machine is completely independent and very easy to use. There is a slight learning curve when it comes to steaming and frothing, but I perfected my technique after the first couple of trys. The stick foam is a little weak, so you 'll need to buy a foam cup to match this height. I 've tried the Lavazza pods, but prefer Starbucks Espresso Roast. I buy at my local Starbucks and the grind! As expected, the freshly ground coffee is much tastier, even if the cleaning is much easier when you use the pods. For less than $ 100, you won 't find a better espresso machine that EC155 Delonghi!
I have owned this machine for a month. While reading the various contributions were a great help to find out, how the best from this machine. It is important to use very cold milk to foam. I have it in glass to make it be really cold. I use whole milk for the richest flavor. Make sure the machine against the use of very hot, turn it about 15 minutes for best results. I use a simple cup of releDe 'Longhi EC155 Espresso Machine Ec155ase some steam into the cup. It is usually watery, so remove the nozzle for pure water vapor. Then I make the espresso. I fill the filter holder, and they do clog up with about 30 pounds of pressure, so that there is a slight twist at the end. Then pull the espresso for about 20 seconds, until the color is bright. Let the machine heat for one minute to the milk foam. Fill the foam cup about one third full of cold milk. Dip the frothing tip in the cup, as in the instruction book. This will overheat the milk and the delicious ctreate NOT foam. Instead, you put the tip just under the top of the milk and turn the steam knob to 12 o 'clock. Skim the top of the cup and the milk begins to foam lower than the milk up so that the tip is not in the end deep in the foam. In the end I had a lot of hot milk and little foam, before I thought this out. R rMeticulous cleaning of the machine is so important. Run water with vinegar through the machine once a month. Then run a lot of water if the vinegar to remove it. Seven parts water to one part vinegar is that what I've used. This flow through the espresso machine and the frothing tip. Clean the plastic tip of a pen as often with milk, it is male, even if you enjoy it. R ri was frustrated with the intruction brochure, but I read a lot of reviews for ideas and I now have a drink, a good cafeteria rivals. It is a learning process that has a lot of fun. This has is a very worthwhile purchase, literally, at the price of a latte!
Tiny, desirable machine offers a good cup. The Easy-serve pods are great practice - I recommend the Grand Lavazza Crema. If you need to turn off a lot of coffee / moss, you 'll probably want something with a little more weight. But for home or small office typical format is a lot.
I can 't say much about the quality of the espresso machine made by this since I ' m like a rookie (and Don 't even have a decent grinder). However, I can say with some confidence that the steam wand on this machine is too short for a normal amount of steamed milk. It doesn 't even get to the bottom of beer twenty ounce pitcher. It Don 't understand the plastic piece around the bulky end of the tube, why not leave the tip exposed as one of the other machines I ' ve seen? It looks and feels awkward. R rSince I 'm mostly about the Capuchins, who had to return the product. What a shame.
Oct/09 bought the DeLonghi EC155 espresso maker. My old (steam) system was dead ... I wanted a good espresso maker value without spending a lot of money. While researching the products it became clear that a '' pump manufacturer was the most preferable action. This product seems to have good reviews and a great price. R Rafter using the product for several weeks, I recommend it. It is clearly the best value for money and makes excellent espresso! On the negative side there is enough space between the peak and my cups of coffee that made me buy new 'Shorter ' cups of espresso ... a small price to pay for a great cup of espresso.
Recently I tried to have my old coffee pot and true with the DeLonghi EC155. We seek the perfect machine to meet our needs. What was looking for was: rease cleaning. 10 rQuick 10 rCompact 10 storage rWater 7.5 shell using comparable 10 rThis machine takes half the time of pre heat. A water bottle is very easy to reach. It 's small the project, and nipple milk works very well and is easy to clean. Now my husband makes my coffee with milk every morning!
This machine makes superb espresso! The milk steamer is a bit inconsistent and water drips from it when I 'm making the espresso, but the coffee itself is well worth it.
For the price you can not do better than this espresso machine. Removable water container. Solid design and construction.
So, I got this product Christmas '08, and wanted to wait to review it to assess it 's life. RThis has become a great little machine, and it produces great coffee while underway, even now, 9 months later, it was pretty much dead. I would say that if this is your first espresso machine, and you 're not sure how much use you'll get out of it, this would be a great starter for the money. I use this machine EVERY DAY for a latte for nine months, and I just don 't think that it is for such a habit ment used. So, now I can move on to more serious parts of the machine. Plow all seems pretty well done. This is a pain to make more than 2 cups of coffee with it (slow, and messy). That could potentially draw two cups at a time (like that shown in the picture), if you see a picture 1oz (very little in the way - I don 't make a strong latte, and I need a 3 oz. Of Coffee minimum). RSO nice little machine, good for making money, will not last forever if you turn into a diligent espresso maker.
My husband loves coffee and I would have been an espresso machine for a year. As our first Christmas together as husband and wife, I wanted to give him, but I was about how clueless a good choice. RThis machine is not professional quality, but it is very good for a household, it is not too much to keep working, and it makes very good grinders. R Ryou must TURN ON before the time is not warm, but as with all espresso machines. You need to clean them regularly, so that the filter (blood clots but not every day we use an old toothbrush), and one must be careful, THAT does not dry out. He still holds about 1-2 inches of water in the reservoir. When it's dry out, the pump will have a hard time starting over again, but it's no big deal, you just passed, until the water is kept ready to win, to go. R ri some bad reviews for this product and I have read was a little nervous about it. But we are dealing with almost a year and it works well for us.
I was skeptical that a small (or medium-low) MACHINE price could work well, but it proves that it works perfectly. Some previous reviewers have noted some areas of concern (very minor), and I'll offer my solutions for them: r r1. The beak n 'allow for anything more than a cup of espresso or a cup of coffee short: Not a big deal for me (our cuts are short and wide and hold all the espresso you can handle and still l hope of getting to sleep that night), but if you want to use a standard mug, simply select the perforated steel plate sitting on the cups and place your cup in the sink below. If there 'fluid in the well, just wipe the cup when you return. R R2. No Cup Warmer: Two solutions here. I use the "Quick " warm-up method described in the manual by running two cups of water in the machine before inserting the grounds and hot water warms the cup easily. Otherwise, if you let it warm for the traditional 15-30 minutes, the cups sit on the steel sector on top of the machine, which serves hot cup, as stated in the manual . R r3. For frothing nozzle too close to the counter, either get a shorter, wider launcher (I 've actually been using a 16 oz. Pyrex measuring cup and it fits very well), or -- you 'is good - to find a place where you can put the machine on the left edge of the counter so that the beak overhangs. You can then use a pitcher all the way to the floor if you want. But I like the idea of the scale to better short. R R4. Built-in tamper: Yeah, kinda lame. Come spend 4 males on metal. R rAnyway even at full price (which I didn 't pay), this machine will pay for itself after 25-30 cups of $ 4 fill-in-the-blank-coffee shop cappuccino / latte / whatever, excluding consumables.
This machine is awesome. I love this. Rthe other things inconvenient for me is the machine itself is not too high, rsometimes it 's very uncomfortable when you ' re boiling milk / frozen to use rsteam pipe. Other than that, 's an amazing machine.
The espresso machine stone if you consider how cheap it. True, I 've used a lot better machine, but as a poor student in college, this machine is perfect. It 's very small, which is perfect for a dorm or small apartment. Just make sure all the accessories you buy for it is small. Ex - don 't buy a frothing pitcher larger than 12oz, it won ' t fit under the wand. R rmy complaint is how much it shakes when you pull your shots. I have literally hot shot glass in my position to keep them from moving. Further, the end of the frothing wand is made up of large items of plastic, making really difficult to see what 're doing, and exactly how far into the milk you are. Last, when you empty the espresso, it 's not a solid brick that you can just hit the trash can. It 's very soft, so you do not have to actually use a spoon to get it all out. R rThe good thing is how easy it is clean, and it makes a good Crema. It 'sa big money saver for me to be able to make my latte at home. I recommend it to anyone looking for a machine on a budget.
I never had an espresso machine and want to learn how to make a latte 's and the like. I did quite a bit of research and, for the price, and options, choose this one. I love it! I'm in a Starbucks junkie, and now has learned to make a big latte's, cappachino 's, etc.. I had a blast and saving. I do not have a high problem using foam sticks like the other review. I just use a shim Coast to milk my picture book or a machine with a high shim that I want. If I have one small complaint would be that you should use a small cup of really interesting when you expesso. There are only about 2.5 inches permission but no one can not work around. All in all, you can 't beat the price and ease of use. BTW I actually use pods (though they cost less) but it saves on the ground espresso chaos, and I do not have to tampa! (Will expand the ground espresso and pods eleven out of stocks and save more) ..... if you are a Novice and want to save some cash, and learn how this is done, this is a good little machine to begin with. You will begin saving a few bucks and find out that what Starbucks did not rocket science.
My wife bought it for me. I used a steam engine for a very long time until one day I said that was not the steam engine 't extracing very well, but dry coffee in the basket. Werther I made a lightweight package or not. She worked in a coffee shop for several years, so I would know. I was skeptical as I am always ready devices. But he gave me a shot. R upper wing, after trying some other Iced Latte 's good coffee shops (not $ Tarbuck), and trying to do at home and not see a ' t the same no matter what I I did, I or coffee, I said I get a bonus. He found this. For the price, is a very good machine. R r steam engine could give the symbol of espresso, all it really is, is a coffee concentrate. This is not the real taste of espresso. The problem is that it heats the water too hot and the powers of water through the extraction of coffee flavor than the essance is espresso. It has a tendency to burn things, like the water is forced through this medium. R rPump driven machines are much more subtle tempreture allow adequate water flow in a more fluid, not forced by high-pressure steam. R Rone another important factor. If you look closely, steam Driver produce grain in the bottom of the pot. This does not happen with a pump driven machine. Or at least not this one. R rif're like me and have used steam engines for years. Do not try this team as one of these. Steam engines are much lower. The quantities of coffee that is used on those much more and the extraction of a completely different quality pump driven machine. R r (voice of Yoda) You must unlearn what you have learned. R rthe quality construction of this 155 seems to be quite solid. I wear a whistle during tht is caused by removal of the valve foaming. I can do to stop rotating the valve at the top, but after the water leaves the steam tube. That can be annoying at first, but I don 't think you are doing wrong. I worked with him and see if I can stop it. R stratagem of espresso. A very good dark roast, dark roast will not any meat. If you don 't as strong coffee, then you can use a dark brown or medium term. But for me, I like strong, even a very good Dark Roast Espresso will. Coffee Illy, Lavazza, probably gold. I use a Grind Espresso, nothing finer or horse. Is important. However, I made a mixture of Turkish grind espresso ground and has also worked well. There are a lot of blends of coffee here, and may take several attempts to find a good producing a great flavor. This has nothing to do with the quality of the machine, but the qaulity of coffee. You can try the grocery store, but the chances are they won 't have a good quality type of espresso large there. None of mine do. I bought a can of Illy espresso coffee powder. It 's good but expensive (about $ 30/lb). We have a toaster and espresso coffee blends are as good or better for $ 12 a pound. R RDO Picon not too hard. I've been too hard Picon. If you need to know, press on a bathroom scale at nearly 30 pounds, is less and more than you think. The Picon right makes a big difference. Basically, I have to put under the coffee cart (single or double, are the same movement), press slightly out of level, then a little more pressure and a shift to smooth the surface. Takes a little practice to get a firm objective level, the package without problems. Then just push any excess edge at the basket or off and you're ready. R Rone other thingy,,, the divider draft. I'm not sure I'm impressed with it. It doesn 't seem to be consistent as to pull 2 also features unique at the same time. I am skeptical of this feature in any unit, not just this. Rmy R machine is ready in about 5 minutes, then pull a shot or two vacuum. Then, load and shoot a shot of it. Not 15 to 45 minutes, like some, and even the book. However, the Times book can promote some nuances that can make a difference at some level, I personally just don 't really matter. Give me my coffee and shut up. R rthe basket diameter is 54 mm r rBuy in Tampa. The built in a not so great. Difficult to obtain an appropriate package. RA Tamper 52mm I think is the perfect size. I am using a meat mallet (smooth side, duh) rthat is 50 mm and works very well. R rom the bottom of the shoe is a button that can be removed for cleaning. War completely and then push to the point of tension. This will allow a better extraction. R rfind, buy or get a 2 oz espresso cup is made the measurement of the vaccine much easier r rWhen pulling a shot,,, depending on the package and the routine could be about 15 to 17 seconds a double. 7 to 10 seconds for a single R. Beam pulling a shot and remove the basketball, yes, you see that coffee is wet, with water on top and sometimes a little thick at the top. But reality is not so much as others may do so to be. Even removes a very good shot. Again, this is not the steam espresso machine. R rThis is very, very, very, very best. R rthe celebrate the cart is emptied when a little peculiar. But once you learn how to use it, is really useful in the preparation of a fast second shot. R rthe foaming, but can be a problem. And I'm still working with him. IT 's not perfect but it works. Not something you use often, like me beak with mocha ice cream and ice. It has a tendency to pump water through instead of steam, if not heated properly. This may be my unit. However, an agreement could be broken, for some, if you experience the same. You want to use an emtpy glass or something to ensure that the tubbing emerges first. Once started, seems to be fine for a while. But, again, takes time to heat, so this may be where and why the book states the time limits. Once again, I can totally picture a hot but less than 5 minutes. Steaming milk is a story that diferent.Crec (because I 't tried this) if it turns on the heat side of the steam for 15 minutes, the transparent tube, steam / foam milk and remove vaccine, which could be fine. R rWith said, if you still have your old steam engine, and does a good job of milk foam occur if steam is inadaquate the east, then keep the other as A foaming, which is what I'm doing. R RI said, try and buy the machine itself. The vaccines are very, very good. Not one steam here, and can even come close. R rover, however, the money is not a bad machine. Yes, you can do better, but you go from 2 to 10 times your money. Rif you have the money to spend, then get a better machine. If not, this machine is worth it. R r 4 stars for ease of use, quality of shot, lost a foaming and the rod is short. R Latte rIced r r24oz cup, cup, or something R2 x double espresso shots R2 1 / 2 tablespoons sugar (if you can not avoid it SPLENDID) rif mocah always wants a 1 1 / 2 tablespoons sugar (to taste) and 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup Morabito 1 cup ice r rput cup sugar, 2 pull double espresso shots, and the vessel rStir until dissolved in the ice and stir until the cold, then the milk to complete r rBet any Starbucks (or their frapaccino to CRA - a bottle), as good as Carribou Coffee or other coffee shop. And cheaper ... ..
I just bought this espresso maker a few months ago after thorough research. The espresso it makes it delicious. It is easy to use and easy to clean also. The only problems I have had with it are: 1) the water reservoir started leaking last week so I would come home and have water all over the countertop. 2) The steamer wand it too low to fit under a glass so i have to put my milk in a bowl to steam it. 3) You have to have a really short mug, or else use a bowl to fit under the espresso drip. I am going to have to return the machine due to the water leak, but otherwise I love this machine.
This is a sweet machine, easy to use, that my wife quickly mocha anytime, next I 'm saving $ 7 a week in cash Moca, according to the announced job! I 'm very happy with this machine!
I bought this espresso maker <1 year ago and it has already broke. It makes excellent espresso and was amazing for the price, I just did not realize it was a disposable and that is why it is so cheap.
I agree with the majority here. The device works perfectly. In fact much, much better than expected! I even managed to get two good, strong (very strong for my taste anyway) of a double shooting on a full basket of major (two scoops of coffee packed close enough) and make my first home mocha 4x shot white! It was just as good as I get my favorite coffee shack, (The owner hand picks and roasts his own beans so I buy them by the kilo or two of him) or work in our shop Coffee House. Probably helps that I have a Burr grinder and grind the coffee can to my specifications right before I Brew. R rthe steam wand ISN 't make a big pain. I found that the standard 12-20 oz Krups pitcher foam adapts very well to this title. For the price, this machine can not be beat! And now it 's $ 15 cheaper than what I paid for it! For now, I 'm very happy with my purchase! Yes, I 'm excited, can ' t you tell by all ?!?!?!! The exclamation marks: 'PI m also a little jumped on coffee now, LOL! Races R a side note: I do not seem to get a soupy mess that some others mentioned in the holder when I 'm done, I get a slice of Nice. R RTO Steve Smith: r rRegarding your complaint on the grounds basket falling into the trash when empty. The secret is, there 'lever in its plastic handle that you have to bend over-and-hold with the thumb while draining to keep the basketball in the cup so it does not fall! How could you miss it? Also handy if you wash the reasons used by arrangement. R RTIP r r1. I highly recommend getting a good Burr grinder like this: Capresso 558/01 Burr Coffee Grinder and grinding costs before you Brew, makes all the difference in the world! Takes a little longer, but it 's well worth the wait. R R2. To expedite things, I still pre-ground coffee in the refrigerator in an airtight container, and my UN-ground beans in a separate water-tight container. This keeps the coffee nice and fresh. Do not keep coffee beans in the freezer or it ruins the coffee grounds / beans! Especially frost free freezer! R r3. If you like ugly white as I do, you can buy white chocolate mixture powder directly from Ghirardelli for $ 19.95 delivered to your door via UPS. Mine got here in 2 days! They also make the syrup, but it 's around $ 24.95 for shipping a 64 oz bottle.
I've had 2 espresso machines that do not keep so well and this is a beast! I firmly believe that this will be the test of time over the years and makes good espresso to boot. A couple of things I don 't like it, that is no big deal now is 1. Just enough space for the milk jug to sit below unity and 2. Fill the water tank is a little bit and try to fill it every two days because you can get a whole attitude, if you run out of water.
This was the transition from non-bomb makers, but little more expensive for the big boost in coffee quality. She uses steam milk every morning, too, and sips away at his cup full professional look. Only slight problem is the amount of force it takes to close the small basket in place, it really feels like we are going to break something to get the unit to its position of complete closure.
This is a great machine! Easy to use, fast, and most importantly, makes a fine cup of espresso, as good as I've had anywhere. The espresso comes out strong, full bodied, rich and very creamy. The price is great. I'm not a fan of cappuccino, but I used the foaming for friends, and it works very well, too. I was referred by Italian espresso addict, and she loved it so much (after vowing to only use a stove top mocha machine), that 's purchase of a second for the office. It 's also compact, and looks good. The instructions are a bit intimidating at first, but the resolve you in 5 minutes. (Use the second method - Quick-Start - It 's best of all). You 'll fall in love.
I ordered this, after much research and am very happy. It 's easy enough for the job and makes a terrific cup of espresso with a nice head of foam. For 2 people, it 's perfect. I can only repeat what many others have complained about the length (or lack thereof) of the wall, requiring very little to get a jug for frothing milk. So, remember to "bleeding " the first wall of foam the milk. But once I understood the peculiarities of the machine, I 've had a fantastic cup every morning!
