Reviews
I 've used the housing F9 to go four years and really the machine. Works great. No problems with maintenance, it machine. Products bean very good result for the Cup. Only drawbacks are the water tank of small size (we enjoy the many cafes and must constantly fill) containers and small grains.
I have had this machine for 1 years to know regular maintenance and my husband and I both, we can expect an excellent cup of coffee every morning. It works great for the occasional latte, the coffee it does make is consistent and full-bodied.
I have had this espresso machine for nearly two years now, so I know all of its "quirks " and benefits / issues. I feel Compelled to write a review since I relied so heavily on these reviews when making this purchase ... so here goes: r r1) After much research, I purchased the F9 at Williams Sonoma, Primarily Because they used to have a policy that you could return anything, at any time, if needed. So, I figured that if ever I had an issue, I could just return it to my local Williams Sonoma and get a replacement rather than returning the machine to the factory and waiting. Turns out I did indeed have to do this once for an electrical issue, Which was actually an issue I had with the wiring at the outlet - not the machine afterall! In any event, I don 't think Williams Sonoma still has that same open-ended return policy. Be sure to research the return policy wherever you make your purchase! R r2) Overall, I have to say I absolutely LOVE this machine. Here 's how I rationalize payment for such an expensive indulgence: if you figure at Starbucks costs approx. $ 3, and you buy one everyday (which I was), it would take 600 cups to break even. Well, with the automatic counter on my machine, I have made more than 1600 cups! This machine paid for itself in the first year .. easily. ok, so now that you 're past the issue of paying so much for a coffee machine, here ' s more ... R r3) This smart machine is crazy. It knows exactly when to clean itself, or tells you when to start the cleaning cycle. To clean it, all you do is insert a coffee powder tablet in the drawer and it does its thing. It knows when it needs water, when the filter needs to be changed, and so on. In fact, since we have a water filter built into our refrigerator, we just use that filtered water in the coffee machine and Therefore we don 't need to use the expensive water filters. Bottom line, if you just pay attention and clean the machine on a regular basis when it tells you to, this is a no-brainer machine. R R4) The coffee and espresso are great. I 've learned to make a latte just like Starbuck ' s and I haven 't been back since. Some people complain that the frother doesn 't work well, but here ' s the trick: first, you should use non-fat or low-fat milk. For some reason, lower fat milk froths better every time, second, be sure to clean the Frothing nozzle after each use. Kind of a no-brainer, I know. Third, there are two settings on the frother, and you can change the setting by sliding the sleeve on the Frothing tip up or down. Experiment with this and you will get the perfect froth, really. R r5) As for the beans, we don 't use overly oily beans as I have read that they can cause a build up and make the machine tough to clean, etc.. I believe the "Illy " brand that comes in the metal tin is supposed to be too oily. Others may have a different experience, but we just use whole espresso beans from the grocery store. R r6) Believe it or not, this machine heats up in about 90 seconds, if not sooner. As a result, we use this for tea and hot cereal all the time. This is an added bonus for purchasing this machine. R ras for issues, I honestly don 't have many. I guess the only things that bug me are the fact that I have to remove the drawer from time to time and dump the water Which is ejected after each use. I have learned to keep a black coffee cup under the Spout so that it collects the rinse water and i just dump it as needed. R rthe only other issue I have had with the machine is that the touch screen sometimes works and sometimes 'sticks. 'I ' ve tried cleaning the face, washing my hands, but sometimes this just doesn 't work right. Fortunately, when it does 'stick, ' it gets stuck on the setting I use, so it 's not a huge problem. R rnet-net, I highly recommend this machine. It took us several days of research and at least a couple of weeks to build up enough nerve to spend this much on a freakin 'coffee machine, but I have to say, this machine has become my new best friend in the kitchen. Sad, but true! Do yourself a favor and buy one. Enjoy! .. ..
I've just bought an F9 from 1st Line Equipment and have not received it, but ... RI sent an email to the company Jura Capresso asking for information about the product. In less than 24 hours I had a long and detailed message on my answering machine from the company describing the machine, and they are sending me a gift video. I don 't even there yet but there are machines that have great customer sevice!
I 've had a F9 for about 4 years now and have used almost every day without problems. Recently, something that had become so slow that it was done (error code intermittently). Assuming he just needed to be cleaned and dug in and quickly discovered that I was over my head - I can fix most things, but this machine is complicated and quite part of 'engineering. I 've not had much success with this type of repair, but thought I ' d give it a go before it becomes undesirable. I glued together and made a call. Repair center said that 250 million fixed anything, they pay all shipping costs (we live in Hawaii and shipping can be an indicator). Not expecting much, he goes. Back arrives at my door in about a month. Have been using it for two months now and it works like new. So ... expensive product, but great that is reliable and usable. I 'd do it again.
Capresso seems to have only a repair across the U.S. (in Pennsylvania), and any repair requires shipping the unit at your expense ($ 150) and weeks of waiting to be served. R rmin broke several times. Twice the compressed coffee grounds in the grinder, and the last time a water pump died - all within weeks of the warranty. R Ryou can get as good or better a cup of coffee from a Senseo. I fell for the hype and the promise of quality from a high price, and now I have a very expensive door stop.
This is an attractive and functional espresso machine with an impressive number of parameters through guarantees the kind of beverage you want to leave. Granted even if it is about $ 1,000 more than other machines that provide most of the same features and produce similar quality espresso. The only real difference between this model and cheaper models with similar characteristics and quality chrome finish and functionality of Internet connectivity. I used this machine before, unlike some of the other 1-star. I love him like an espresso machine, I must admit. How can I give it 1-star then? That 's because it ' s an open invitation to identity thieves and hackers. R rWhile an espresso machine that may require maintenance on its own sounds very neat, it's actually the source of the 1-star rating I 've given. The functionality of Internet connectivity (which requires software to be installed on a PC on your home network) allows remote attackers to modify the settings of your coffee. They could change the temperature, flow, etc.. sometimes to the point of damaging the machine. They can also take remote control of PC you have installed the software on. Although it sounds like a fun source of jokes for the hacker, it is too expensive coffee maker that 's sounds more like a guesthouse dangerous. R rleAV this Trojan horse outside the city gate and get the model more reasonable prices. He does what he does well, but unfortunately, that includes the rental of pirates in your kitchen. Consider the same brand 's function without versions-Laden for example. R RPost safety rear door: rhttp: / / www.securityfocus.com/archive/1/493387
The same performance out of the $ 800 Jura - MOST OF THE CHROME LESS! R rBUY SMART!
People can endanger your coffee and take over your computer as a result. Coffee isn 't worth the risk.
We have this machine for 1 weeks now, and the machine is properly fulfilled. The coffee is the best I 've ever eaten. Much better than Starbucks, and even quicker to make. The espresso has a perfect cream and easier to change a latte couldn 't with the Xpress-Plus system (actually the F9 does in the more expensive Z5. You will not be disappointed in this machine. Could be cheaper, but how they say "you get what you pay for " I liken this machine a few of my Swiss watches - impeccable workmanship and good quality. Larry C.
We have this home, and love it, and all visits us want one. It grinds, tamps, Brews and self-cleans in less than a minute, and you can make individual drinks coffee for each person, providing a regular guest on espresso and the next guest to decaf cappuccino, etc.. It 's perfect for entertaining.
The money was no object when I bought this machine. It's beautiful. However, he failed to meet its hype. Engineering Too much, too little coffee quality. The mechanism of self-cleaning that kick in when I was waiting for the coffee, the coffee itself was inconsistent in the strength and the ship could not produce foam, no matter how I tweaked it. Talking to technical support in the Capresso has not helped. I ended up returning it to Amazon.
My first was the F7 Jura. I bought it off eBay (new) and couldn 't have been happier. I was so thrilled with it, I bought another F9 () and gave my mother the F7 because it was a awesome machine. It 'truly remarkable how the machine works. It took me a good 15 + cups of coffee as to how I like. There are so many options on this machine that taste the effect of: Grind, water temperature, the amount of beans, the amount of water, etc. .... With reference to the service are wonderful. When I received my new F9, I immediately had problems with a couple of buttons. I called the service center and was waiting for 6-8 minutes. After about 2 minutes of a conversation with the representative said they would just send a new machine and when I knew I send my old car in the box. They paid all the shipping costs. No credit cards, nothing. I 've never heard of a service before. Forging. I couldn 't be happier. It 'a great machine that makes coffee very good and it looks really nice on the kitchen counter. I love my Swear! As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to make me a decaf cappuccino right down.
April 2009 UPDATE: I have owned for 18 months now for F9, and I was still very high rate to make coffee (compared with some other brands I've owned and tried,) but all too often broken. R rSince my original review (below), I had to send the unit back to factory twice again - that 's THREE BACK TO FACTORY FOR VISITING since I ' ve had it. The unit is really heavy, and you 're on your own to find packaging materials that match and therefore you have to pay shipping one way, even if the unit is under warranty. Own way 's an expensive and high maintenance item for. R rI will change the rating of 2-1/2 stars, but I can 't figure out how to change it. R r ** * ORIGINAL edited 2007 Review: *** r rAlthough that I ordered from Amazon is DOA, the plant immediately send new replacement unit without even asking me for a credit card for security. New unit works perfectly and made fantastic crema coffee. I also own the Incanto Serious and I found the Jura-Capresso's superior unit. It 's also very easy to clean, and does not require decalcification if you use a water filter. My only complaint is: r * The dispenser is tall enough for a large cup of coffee, but it 's almost impossible to get a travel mug in there, r * Water compartment and smaller nuts than I ' d like - they need frequent recharging. But this is balanced by the relatively small size units. Rif not for those little problems, I 'd unit level five-star hotels, and great technical support, too!
I have owned this for about 9 months and 1000 use almost out of it (that counts for you). It can equal the product of coffee are more likely to find, but as others point out, is very passionate about what we can create from the more traditional equipment. You can also find the settings for coffee cream to be something of an acquired taste (but you can make an American in a further step, which is always great). R RAL, we went to a brief episode in which they would refuse to BREW nothing (as if they didn 't have the power to blow the water through the puck of coffee). I have been remedied by a course of decalcification as well as erase the parts above the removable tray at the bottom. (I use filtered water in the car, but decalcification seems to be more serious than the normal cleaning-cleaning.) R rGiven this, I would recommend keeping department store cleaning supplies and do the normal cleaning at least every couple of weeks instead of waiting for the car 's automated recommendation to clean. My understanding is that there are sensors dirty driving these messages. It's just a function of the amount of use. ROverall R, I would buy this again for some, and if / when it dies I'll be watching one of his dearest brothers, than in other brands.
Machine is excellent. Espresso produces above average in every shot. Foams milk very well. R RI is an early buyer of the machine, and 8513 shots later (yes it counts them), I know this is a great value. R RI would also comment that the customer service is excellent. Sent to the machine once, and for $ 100.00 received a complete overhaul. (Sent in for leaking bombs after a switch.) Came back like new, time, and they pay for return shipping. Can 't ask for more. R RI will buy another Superhighway from the Jura / Capresso, when the time comes for a new machine. It may be several years from now ...
It is a well thought out machine. It 's easy to use and maintain and makes coffee and beverage Expess awesome. Each espresso machine I 've had in the past has been such a hassle to use and clean that I ' ve always abandoned after a short period. It 'keeper of her!
Saw a demo of this at a local Sur La Table and very impressed. The coffee it makes is outstanding. I plan to buy one later this year. R Ramazonie is misleading price information. They list price was $ 2400, and 're selling for $ 1798.95, a savings of $ 601.05. NO! Watching the Jura Capresso site. List for F9 printed is $ 1799. That leads Amazon 's great discount up to $ 0.05 in its entirety. The High End Printing S9 is $ 2399 (and Amazon says it is $ 3200). Do your research. Don 't trust Amazon ' s requests for MSRP.
My office has had the machine for almost a year, and while she makes a decent (not the best coffee), my major complaint would be the (lack of) customer service! R R I have tried unsuccessfully for more than two weeks to a live response to my complaint about the "Start " button is useless, but call me only emails that indicate that I should use its toll-free number that no answer! Talk about a waste of time. I 'm ready to throw my machine out the window and to my coffee the old fashioned way.
Is not for your typical drinker of coffee. It may be, but isn 'T. The thing that separates this is especially the price, if not just about anyone who drinks coffee should absolutely love this machine. R rThis and the machine can make great coffee, American coffee. It makes very good, but not great espresso. You can do good or better than this machine you 'll probably get a store chain of coffee. R rthe key to the quality of coffee is using coffee beans HIGH QUALITY. I mean particularly the recently roasted beans. More recently roasted the beans, the better off you (use the optimum date is 2 days after roasting). I recommend coffee from www.intelligentsiacoffee.com (try their accidental / West and house blends) or www.victrolacoffee.com (streamline espresso). R rMake make sure you use the high temperature setting for best results, also. When making espresso, I think will help warm the engine for producing steam before you make the espresso (providing more flavor). R rthe steam wand is OK, but somewhat limited in that it 's hard to get some Frothing maneuvered in for Frothing pitchers. R rTrue coffee geeks will want a high quality espresso machine where you can control your tamping pounds, with a quality grinder burr for re 'not going to get a "God Shot "from F9. R Rbut for the rest of us, and even coffee geeks who enjoy the ease of single-button coffee / espresso quickly in the morning, this machine is very so.
if you had asked me about paying this kind of price for a coffee maker several months back, i would have said you were having crazy.after this model for about 6 months, yes, it 's worth the price.easy to use, easy to clean.i can 't ask for much more.after a trip to Europe, where we got hooked really good coffee.anywhere you went, it was there.when we got home, we always wished we could still have it all of the time.now we can, by just walking in the kitchen and pushing a button.
Having never worked at a Starbucks or otherwise, I only knew that I liked more than Folgers boutique coffees, et al .. Trusting the products lines of the local gourmet Kitchen Store, I tried many of their machines on display, noting ease of use as well as the final product. In many cases it came down to the obvious, personal taste and the particular "roast " being used. Trying to spend my $ 4.00/day specialty coffee money on a machine that would appeal to design, ease of use, reputation, functionality and most of all the coffee it produced ultimately made the JURA / Swiss made extremely attractive. I realize nearly $ 2000 for a coffee machine seems a little crazy to many, but you do the math. The short list included the slightly more expensive S8 with the dual heating elements for shorter downtime, but the touch control LED won out for me. No looking back, I 've been extremely pleased with the F9 and the automated promps are a "no-brainer ".
Obviously, the previous reviewer did not try the coffee from a semi-automatic machine that provides hands-down best cream flavors better and better tasting coffee. No matter who you talk to, who has a semi-automatic machine will tell you that your coffee is much better than a super automatic. Also, if you really like this machine (which is a very nice machine), get the S7, is for the same price, but has infinitely more resources. This machine is too expensive. Put it in perspective, in 1800 dollars for a coffee, hmm ... what you could buy with $ 1800? I don 't think I need to go through a list, but I think you get the point of view. This machine will yield any better than any other coffee over $ 500. Capresso are just ridiculously expensive and I have no explanation for why. Some of the features of this machine are useless and you should 't even pay for them. For example, it allows you to choose from mild, medium, strong and extra strong coffee. The mild taste worse than average and drip and there is no cream on them, the strong and extra strong are good, but not much. The machines can only provide coffee impressive is the semi-automatic. Convenience really isn 't an argument considering it takes about 3 minutes with a super and 5 with a semi. And you can even get semi 's skin to make beer easier for all you have to do is put the pod in the portafilter, and the switch from beer. One last thing before you buy it, go to a store and see it because you will be surprised at the size. The look of the front of the machine are nice, the size of it is tremendous.
